Used and refurbished PlayStation

A used PlayStation is the most affordable way into Sony's big games. You'll find, for example, PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles, often barely used. We test every console by hand and, when needed, refurbish it with original parts. Then we wipe all data and reset it to factory settings. You buy on eBay or Vinted, with the platform's protection under its terms.

How do we refurbish our PlayStation consoles?

Before sale, every PlayStation goes through our tests: all functions, video output, ports, connectivity and buttons. If something isn't as it should be, we replace worn or faulty parts with original ones. We don't do this on every console, only when its condition calls for it.

Then we wipe all data and reset the console to factory settings, with no PlayStation Network account linked: you switch it on and sign in with your own. The condition grade (Like new, Very good, Good, Fair) describes its looks, and the photos in the listing are real. What's included, such as controllers and cables, is stated in the listing.

What's the difference between a used and a refurbished PlayStation?
A used PlayStation is sold as it is. A refurbished one is checked and, if needed, repaired before sale. We test every console by hand; when needed we replace parts with original ones, then wipe the data and reset it to factory settings.
PS4 or PS4 Pro: what changes?
Both play the same games. The PS4 Pro is more powerful: on a 4K TV it shows many games in more detail and often runs them more smoothly. If you have a Full HD TV, the standard PS4 is perfectly fine.
Is the previous owner's data deleted?
Yes. We wipe all data and reset the console to factory settings, with no PlayStation Network account linked. When you switch it on, you sign in with your own account.
